Why did our towable tube go underwater?
We purchased a 3 person UFO cockpit towable tube at academy, One person got in to ride …we took off slow and it filled up with water and went under… what did we do wrong? it was extremely hard to get back in the boat…it had a water drain under the towable…but didnt seem to work so well….should we return it for a different kind? Or what do we need to know…it’s our first time using a towable.
i think your tow line is too close to the water and when the boat starts to move it will drag the tube down. when you start, the person on the tube can displace weight to the back of the tube while pulling up on the connection at the tube to keep the rope connection out of the water. once you pick up speed the tube should “plane off” and you’ll be fine.
